I only wish
that Montblanc had kept the MInerva name on all the watches with its stunning movements rather than using the Montblanc name which remains synonymous with pens. I believe by keeping the Minerva name, Montblanc would attract a larger clientele for its MInerva movement watches. I have a 62,00 smalls seconds and once owned a 13.21 with a monopusher and enamel dial. The movements were breathtaking but it surprised me that their daily tolerance was +8 -2 seconds. I had expected better to be honest but I guess Minerva focuses on the beauty and the finishing of the movement design over all else.

Interesting about the movements you post are unbelievable beauties. I try to get a Minerva or a Montblanc with a Minerva movement if i get the chance. But first i want to complete a Rolex triple.

There is no substitute
for a superbly finished movement but I am greedy Nico, a name would have helped too especially why hide a name that has been established over so many decades, a name that has a positive aura about it.

It would have been great in Montblanc continued using the Minerva name on the dial of its watches. Imagine if a Breguet used Swatch on its dial instead of Breguet!!

The reason why the daily tolerance is bigger is because of the size of the movement
you can see from this link www.cosc.swiss that the tolerance for the smaller movements are wider. That's why small movements in big watches are a no no, because you lose out in horological qualities.

it reminded me of one thing I wanted to point at: All watches from the Montblanc Villeret 1858 Collection (now discontinuedI) carry on the backside "Fait main a Villeret" (handmade in Villeret). The "newer" models with the same calibers carry "Swiss made"...

But that’s no way I can verify. I did ask a very reliable source on the difference in finishing but he didn’t address this as well. His personal view is the movements are finished by different watchmakers thus might look slightly different.
