Montblanc did save Minerva from going into liquidation and I fully acknowledge Montblanc's prowess in the pen field. It is like people acknowledging Louis Vuitton for making exquisite luggage but not many would buy a Louis Vuitton watch because for the same amount of money, there are many others one can choose from. Minerva produced exquisite movements even before Montblanc bought the company and now they do so under the Montblanc name. I think it would be better marketing strategy if Montblanc had two ranges, one under its own name and a more high end offering with the Minerva name. It is the same with Seiko, Pressage, Grand Seiko and Credor. It is the same with Toyota and Lexus. Many people who buy a Montblanc watch with a high end Minerva movement may prefer their watch not being associated with a lower end model in the Montblanc range.
