Interesting, but also suprised
By the 50 pieces thing. I also thought it was higher than that.
I made an interview of M. Adé (MD MB FR) last week (to be published in Le Point / Argus des Montres in a few days I think).
He confirmed me what rumors said for a couple of months : MB's quality control are above all what Jérôme Lambert ever suspected. Which obvisouly lead to the very low rate of after sale service he mentioned.
One other VERY interesting thing : as MB is willing to give more and more importance to its watches range, I asked M. Adé if it would likely be to see, maybe, one day, a flagship store of only watches by Montblanc. The good ol' flagship !
His answer was : definitely not -> Montblanc is a whole single universe that is consistent only if global. MB's goal is to go with men all along their day : from their belts and watches in the morning, to their pens and phone / documents case during the day, through perfume, cuff links, etc. Separating these universe would play against the brand.
So no, MB will never go into the flagship store thing.
My two cents !
Cheers,
Olivier
