Robin, sorry I got to this post late
All the others have captured my perspective. I really would love to see the MB in person. Owning the Lange, and having several Lemania, the MB to me, from your outstanding write up, is the missing link.
First, horology is the only area where you can have many loves/wives! And no one gets hurt! You no longer have to choose between blondes, redheads, etc!
Seriously, I love a two register watch with the registers on the 3/9 plane. The new Patek movement does not do this and that is what outs me off. The Lange fixes that visual problem for me, as the large date rebalances the watch to a perfect triangle. That is why I have the lemania/Lange loves. The MB, after reading your comments evolves the Lemania concept into another league.
Enamel is always special. The dial/time readout is unique, the hunter back, and a different movement for a new visual enjoyment.
Yes, I think I would really need one of these also. But, only 8 made, so really your collecting task is so much easier now than mine. Add a Lemania and you are set!
Thanks for great thread
Best,
Joe
