Both are absolutely gorgeous though!

Overall, I like the stronger character of the black version.

While originally attracted to the 687 dial, over time I have drifted more towards the 685. The 687 can look stunning in some lighting conditions such as a bright sunny day and while more subdued otherwise I always felt that I may get tired of it over the ... 

I am not a fan of the text on the bezel on this one. However, the black dial pops a bit more to me

Out of the several Panerai’s I have, it’s far and away my favorite. Love the shape of the bezel, the wording on the bezel and most of all the gorgeous gradient dial. For sure a keeper. ...
