Officine Panerai

Very nice work, Anthony.

The Pam 305 is certainly the nicest Panerai introduced this year, with the Egiziano.

I agree with you on this point.

You wondered why Panerai didn't use horizontal baton markers at 3 and 9?

Look at the 2533...

There is no date nor small seconds on the 2533, while the small seconds and the date exist on the 305.

Here is, IMO, the explanation.

While a small second is important on a Diving watch - it is even mandatory as per diving rules - I wouldhave liked to see it closer to the bezel, too.

The date removes, in my opinion, a bit of strength and purity to the dial, too.

The shape of the case is a big PRO.

The choice of an automatic caliber is good, as we speak of a Diving watch.

What I still don"'t get is why Panerai used the 2533 baton markers on this Submersible.

The 2533 was a Radiomir, the 305 is the heir of the Egiziano.

Using the baton markers of a Radiomir on an Egiziano is a bit weird to me.

So, at the end, and to sum my thoughts on this watch, more pros than cons, yes, but some weird cons, as the use of these baton markers, for example.

I'm still waiting for a 47 mm Egiziano, which would be, in my opinion, the King of all the Submersibles.

Best,

Nicolas
