Warmed up slowly
My first luxury watch was not a Panerai. I got another well regarded brand that was a dress watch/chrono combo. It was an impulsive purchase with major butterflies, but the excitement quickly disappeared. My second watch was a Panerai Radiomir (210). I had seen these in online forums, so simple and elegant. I liked it when I bought it, but was not out-of-my-mind ecstatic. Over time, I have grown more and more passionate about this watch. (This has not happened with others). I guess this is due to a million subtle things about the design. Big/noticeable ... but not gaudy/tacky. Sporty and dressy and masculine, and a fun strap culture.
Also, all the enthusiasm of other owners online makes it a fun community.
