i've just seen this total abomination on fleabay. the case with integral bracelet, screw in crown and bezel look like they come from the Seamaster F300hz divers model although there are probably other models with the same case. the dial is just a figment ...

This is a 'lovely one' - the seller says that he personally bought this new in 1967 and that he's had it recently serviced by an AD. But... note the strategically placed hands in the poor quality photo - no chance of a MOY there It looks like it's a clipb...  

if you asked him for a pic of the movement and inside of caseback i bet he'd say that he doesnt have a tool to remove the back obviously doesnt own a penknife. haha. the sad thing is the people who buy these think they have a great watch and may never kno...  

... and Ebay has surprisingly heeded many. The real shame with Omega, is that unlike Richemont, who protects their brand like nobody's business on Ebay (I once got an Ebay cease & desist email from Richemont legal in India describing a rectangular Hamilto... 

I think Omega wants people to buy recently released watches instead of vintage... Also the policy not to sell spare parts for vintage any more goes in the same direction.

That parts sellers like cousins, ofrei etc. are no longer able to obtain parts for vintage omegas to sell to us?

Hi Mike, I can not confirm this. Sorry I have not been precise enough... My experience concerns watchmakers here in Europe. They have to be certified and specially trained in Switzerland - then they get parts for repair but only for rather "young" models.... 

You many be right though this is where omega is headed - large mark-up on the repair of vintage pieces sent to Bienne or other omega owned service centers by restricting parts distribution. It may not be official yet but the sense I get is it is getting h... 

...with it being more financially rewarding for those who make reproduction parts and sell illegally. I don't understand the logic, myself. It would be great to get true clarification (sans politi-speak) from Omega on this.

I don't care much about that as I belong to the group who only collect vintage Omegas. I stay strictly with the 30mm manual winding family, the Seamasters and Constellations which I can get part donors any time from the Bay, I am also capable of performin...

from what i've heard is that they are still readily available in UK, but they may well be restricted to 'authorised' repairers such as Swiss Time Services which is the company that deals with all of Swatch UK's vintage watches. if anyone from UK is readin...
