I can not confirm this.
Sorry I have not been precise enough...
My experience concerns watchmakers here in Europe.
They have to be certified and specially trained in Switzerland - then they get parts for repair but only for rather "young" models.
If you have a "real" vintage the watchmaker does not get parts any more... you are forced to send the watch to Bienne.
That is what I have experienced in my region.

i've just seen this total abomination on fleabay. the case with integral bracelet, screw in crown and bezel look like they come from the Seamaster F300hz divers model although there are probably other models with the same case. the dial is just a figment ...

I think Omega wants people to buy recently released watches instead of vintage... Also the policy not to sell spare parts for vintage any more goes in the same direction.
