Overall proportion
I do not know his wrist size, but the smaller dress watches look perfectly in proportion. He is not tall (about 5' 5") and I fear that a large sport watch might look awkward on his wrist. I wish the Omega site showed each watch on an average sized wrist. When I got him the Patek Calatrava (ref. 5119 maybe? I don't really remember) we ended up returning it for a 3919 --the larger just didn't look right. At the same time, however, I worry that the sport watch is supposed to be bigger. Is it entirely a matter of taste or is there a rule of thumb?

42mm is a pretty standard size these days for a sport watch, and of course they go larger. I think a 42mm will be fine. The Planet Ocean is a classic watch, and one does expect it to have a little wrist presence. This message has been edited by mrsnak on ...
