Very sad to report my 5164 was stolen off my wrist this week at gun point. I was attacked outside my office by a group that was waiting for me. Horrible feeling as I loved the piece and waited so long to acquire it. Very thankful however it wasn't worse. ...  

Police report is about the only recourse, unless Patek maintains a database of stolen pieces

I think there are some website you can register the info on and if it pops up they alert you. Google search will bring them up. Where did they occur (country, city or state?).

Sending the police report to Patek is the right move. I would also inform your AD and see if there might be another piece that could be allocated to you.

It's not stolen but rather robbed at gun point. How about notifying all major auction houses as well with the serial number? I'm not sure whether they will act on it, but at least when the watch is handed over to them for auctioning they know it is a ques...

I hope you’re ok. It’s probably an inside job - someone who works for you or a client likely saw it and informed “the crew”. I know that’s probably not making you feel better. I hope you had it insured for the after market amount.

It’s odd that they would notice that watch unless they were really targeting you, as it’s normally not as recognizable as say a Rolex President or even a Nautilus on bracelet. The rubber strap really tones it down in terms of flash. It’s sad that you can’...

I'm going to the States in a few days and was actually planning to wear my 5164, but I may change my mind now...

Good that you are safe.. safety in the USA has gone downhill.. one needs to be more discreet when wearing luxury watches..
