And a very hard hitting and evocative question. Loved the answers, ranging from " horological exellence" to " rubbish", although I would question the latter's response. Personally, I have always loved beauty and craftsmanship in anything made by man. I've always had a "thing" about watches- I'm sure that many members felt the same without understanding why. I remember holidaying in Thailand as a young, poor man and as everyone did- looking at the fake watches on sale in the markets. I recognised the usual Rolex etc, but was very taken by these Patek Philippe watches. Anyway I bought one and of course it lasted all of 4 weeks. But I was hooked and did some research. Good grief- the prices !! But to cut a long story short, I wanted a genuine one and saved hard . 20 years after that I finally realised my dream. So the first thing that pops in my mind? Hey it was all worth it- I love my watch.
