First timer here......
and this is , to me, a great time to introduce myself amoungst the bickering. My name is Marc and love to collect all types of watches. I currently own two PP, the 5035 in white gold w/ grey dial. Its gorgeous, a little small but as I have small wrists it fits very well and I also just picked up the 5205 w/dark dial. That piece is absolutely beautiful, as many of you would agree. I dont know much of the technical aspects of the watches but I feel the LOVe of timepieces is the main reason to post on this and other forums. That is the common denominator we should all share no matter what our disagreements are on a specific model. I too considered a lange 310.025 and went with my second PP instead. In the end I just thought the lange will not have the staying power and time enduring characteristics of the PP. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and thank you for the forum. Marc

Why don't you consider platinum pieces prior to the
use of the diamond accent? There are a number of references which cover a broad range from simple to complicated. Look around, I'm sure there's something out there for you.

You havent met me in person yet - Go whine somewhere else. I agree with you - Patek's are way too blingy. I would stay away at all costs. Why do we let posts like this stay?
The diamond on the platinum cases........
are not a big deal IMO. You don't even see the diamond unless you know to look for it. I can understand that the prices on Patek's platinum pieces are much higher than their gold models but the diamond placed on the bottom underside of the case should not...
I absolutely have no problem with the diamond.
for me the diamond make the platinum case special in patek watches.

Put a diamond between the lug of their platinum watches. There is no reason to flame him, indeed, and even if the diamond doesn't bother me, as it is not too visible, I would also have preferred without. Best, Nicolas.
