Is your band “from origin”?
So I dropped the watch at PP a month ago. A couple days ago got the quote - 1500CHF so pretty happy with that (will post more on this shortly). But they said the band is “not from origin” as in not original. This is crazy as I have the papers and my grandfather bought the watch from a dealer. I know with a Rolex I have due to tax reasons they had someone locally produce the band (HK in the 70s). Mine looks like yours!!! Any thoughts? Thanks.

Shouldn’t be an issue typically
The most common issues that arise if you never service it: gaskets dry out and crack. Lubricants become gummy and slow mechanisms. I’m sure others here know far more, but those are the general problems
Unfortunately i don’t have the answer. Best to send it in to the service center for PP to appraise and assess the extent of service required.
Personally, i do not think it is an issue if it has never been serviced. On polishing excessive amount of gold, really depends on how many times and extent of the polish done over its lifetime. PP can advise. Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome. H...

you can use a wide felt tip pen on the yellow gold case
where you can check for any-'cracks' in the case. the ink will show up any cracks-use a black felt tip pen.

One of the distinctive features of the 3445 is the very sharp pointed bevel on the top of the lugs. When a 3445 is polished the top of the lugs tends to become more rounded
and for me that greatly diminishes what made the 3445 special. Perhaps Patek can polish it in a way that avoids this pitfall. Perhaps not. I would proceed with caution if you are thinking of polishing this watch.
