manual winding is essential to these watches
I very much like the fact that these watches are manual wind. Taking a few moments in the morning winding the 5970 makes me appreciate both the watch and life in general. It harkens to an earlier age as does the watch itself, and it leaves the movement uncluttered by a less attactive rotor. Patek has come up with a quick reset feature for those hopefully rare times when the watch is left unwound. In sum, it provides pleasant diversion, is historically correct, is aesthetically pleasing, and reasonably convenient. What's not to like?
