Felow Patek owners and connaisseurs, I am considering giving myself a major gift next year.... The watch that I am eyeballing is the PP5970R. Would love to hear from the experts on the matter what they love so much about this watch, or what not. Any stron... 

I would go for the 5970 for two reasons only......... Firstly the 5970 simply looks much better on my wrist and the square pushers just do it for me........The 3970 is too thick IMO... Secondly I believe the 5970 to be in fewer numnbers.....Before anyone ... 

Without a doubt I will go for the 5970R. A more stunning piece than the 3970.. Bigger dial and much cleaner lines. It is much more than he 3970 though. In numbers as well Henry Hoe

... and if I have to give one negative this is it. I know I wont take this watch with me during holidays, so would have to reset twice a year at the minimum. during business trips I can take it with me no problem. but for sure i will just forget to wind i...

I prefer the button pushers of the 3970. I have small wrists so prefer the smaller diameter of the 3970 too. Great pictures everyone.

I have owned both. In fact I sold my 3970 to pay for my 5970. On their merits, they should both be "great classics" as they are essentially the same watch. However, like many I think the 3970 is out of porportion. It is still a great watch to own, but the... 

how ever it is a very personal choice. If you decide to go for the 3970 I think you would actually find yourself saving money not adding it.

I would go with the 5970R, my reasons being that I like the slightly larger case, which I guess should make the dial appear less cramped thus more legible to read. And I too prefer the rectangular shaped pushers over the round one's. Perhaps you could set... 

Also one other slight adjustment which would have made the 5970 perfect is the colour of the moonphase......Too dark imo a nice lighter blue would have been perfect....Again like the earlier comp's........Maybe that is why PP did not???? Maybe Cheers M.

Personally, I think the round chrono pushers on the 3970 look goofy and wrong. The 5970 has its proportions and dial layout just right. I do not have a large wrist, but it looks great on me. I do get annoyed at the winding sometimes. The power reserve is ...

I would opt for the 5970, although, I believe the 3970 is less money at this time. I pay close attention to the remarks about the width/thickness of the 3970 which gives it a off balance look. I think the current sizing of the 5970 is definitely more plea...
