...or in my case the 5039 (love the bezel). The printing of the days/dates, etc. are much more uniform (same type size throughout).
The 3940 is a truly iconic watch that will never look anything other than classically proportioned and beautiful.
The only exception would be if you have a significantly large wrist size. My wrist is relatively large but I still prefer 36-38mm for a dress watch.

IMHO the 3940 is a Patek classic, plus pricing is becoming reasonable too. Of course best bet is finding one complete with box, books, original certificate (not Archives) and with fresh service.
