the scale is not here as a "tool" but as a decoration.

You don't seem to like it and that's a personal choice of course.

But you have to consider that some people may like the way it looks.

Furthermore, this scale is refering to the first chronographs the brand has created in the 30's/40's. It is much more than a usefull element.

I guess without scales (whether it is a Telemeter or a Tachymeter, which are not that usefull either), the watches are much simpler and very well looking if one is looking for something more airy.

But I don't think there is an absolute rule of good taste here.
