As I said, I know it’s just me.
White metal and blue dial give the watch a very contemporary and cool look and I understand the appeal of course (I imagine it’s the favorite combo of many collectors), but it’s not what I’m personally looking for in a watch in general and in this one in particular.
The J speaks to me more because it’s warmer, closer to the original ref. 2554 and I much prefer the grainy off white dial to the sunburst grey one of the R (as you know I haven’t yet seen P and G in real life).
It’s just a matter of what resonates with you.

mine is ~15
and it feels just slightly large. i used to own one in yg, but that specific example had poorer case than my standard which i only realized after seeing some more pristine ones. ...

Yes, huge gap, which doesn't reflect the quality of the YG version.
The grainy silver dial is truly wonderful.
There's an unaffordable complete set for sale in Monaco.
But one would be enough for me. Having the complete set does not attract me that much (same for 5110 or 5070).

The 5100 is a great watch, whatever the metal.

having owned many Js and a few Rs
i’m now more intrigued towards Gs and Ps, and not white dials cuz i also have had a lot. also agree with your take on blue dials, somehow i’m just not really into blue colour, not only on watches but also suits.
