Patek Philippe

As someone who went through the Patek phase

and came out disillusioned... I just wanted to offer this advice. Take a moment to ask yourself why you want "a Patek". is it marketing? Is it the notion that Patek is the best? (it is not.) Is it to join an exclusive club? (there are far more exclusive clubs.) I could go on. There is only one reason to get a Patek--that you want it for what it is, not what it 'means' or 'what it represents' or that 'everyone says its the best' or that 'once you have one, you have 'made it'. All of these notions are illusions. Patek is a money maker for many, many people, especially those in the used market, and those who sell in the gray market, for jacked up prices. the brand is not without serious merit, but most of that merit is found in its past, not its present. Just check your heart, is all I am suggesting. Be sincere on your collecting path. Let no one draw your path for you. Buy what you LOVE. You ask what Patek you can buy for X dollars? It seems that you have not zeroed in on a Patek that is YOUR choice, but only a PRICE.  Good luck!!
