There's no question in my mind that the mechanical watch is superior. I asked my wife (who has an array of different Patek's), however, and she couldn't care less about the mechanical movement. Indeed, she would rather have a quartz timepiece because winding, using a winder, or setting the watch after it sits is a "pain". She also very much prefers precious metals over stainless steel. As for the Nautilus being a "sports watch", she points out that she almost always wears a Garmin to the gym? When she's not in workout wear she picks the watch that best matches her outfit for the day? Hope this helps?
