Broaden your horizons
My friends always come to me looking for advice on whether they should by X watch, I like to make sure that they've had a good look around first before making any purchases.
In terms of the 2 Pateks you listed, I personally don't like the 5205G for men or women. I think that a plain classic Calatrava (like the 5119G) would look better, especially on a lady's wrist. My sister usually wears my father's Calatrava for daily use.
Case colour I'd say would depend on the kind of jewellery you typically wear (I don't like mismatches), but as you said its a very personal thing.
Please let us know what you decide on in the end
Best
Marwan

Nautilus is a good choice
By: doublesix : August 4th, 2013-10:30
I think a men's Nautilus such as the 5711 1a in stainless steel is a good choice. If you are willing to consider a Daytona, then try the 5980 1a chrono. Also, a yellow gold vintage Nautilus such as the 3800 (35mm) often show up in auctions at a reasonable...

Thanks Marwan. This is going to be my first purchase of a high end watch so I have to make sure I get it right. Most people in Singapore knows only of Rolex and have been advised to get one. Peer pressure. Anyway Thanks for the advice. I will try on more ...
Patek Philippe Gondolo
By: Hagen : August 4th, 2013-16:28
Read your post with great interest. I don't normally venture onto this forum, as I will likely never be able to afford a Patek Philippe in this lifetime. However, that doesn't stop me from admiring. My grail watch is this Godolo. A couple of months ago, w...
I like your choices ...

... But I'm afraid they seem a but oversized in your wrist, to my eyes at least. I'm certainly no expert of lady's fashion, but for a classic look the wrist should frame the watch case and the lugs a bit more discreetly. As larger watch styles have evolve...

The Patek 5085 ss is no longer in production but I will tell you, I get lots of compliments from women. On a couple occasions, they have put it on their wrist and I was amazed how good it looked. However, I am glad my wife has her eyes on other things bec...
