Hi Amaan,
The ideal way would be to wind it up by hand, let it run down, then repeat that a couple of times.
A new car also requires time for it to be carefully "worked in".
How many of us have the patience to do that with a watch? Not many - including myself - but it is still necessary.
You should check the setting on your winder for this particular caliber. II that is correct, an abrupt start after days of inactivity could knock something out of adjustment.
I do share your frustration but would bite my tongue before using the word "disgusted".
Statistically seen, nearly all the failures on my own watches are related to crown/winding issues, whether they are automatic or not.
A friendly suggestion is to comply with at least one of the guidelines on our Forum which is not to complain about performance - service - waiting time without having a grievance that is so serious that it should be aired openly.
Hoping that the situation will resolve itself to your advantage,
amerix
