a Roman watch have to have a Roman numeral. However, I do agree it looks off - I believe here, like in many brands that use Roman numerals, when they curve or distort the proportions it looks odd. Much prefer when left classic.

But I agree with what you say concerning the oddity of many non-classic Roman numerals.

What do you make of what seems to be a typo in the article - repeated in other related posts - I have the 5098 as a very different family of tonneau-shaped watches. Just a typo? ...
