Nobody with a nanogram of common sense might believe that the auction's "performance" was not staged. Patek is a successful company that is advertising, promoting and selling its new watch, no need to play those games (flippers are more than enough).

The advertisement appears legit, unlikely to be a hoax. The new model needs a name with 3 syllables to match Aqunaut, Nautilaus but Patek could have tried bit harder.

Unless it's planted false evidence disguised as a leak! (If you're pro-hoax).

the Nautilus is way more elegant, has better design... this to me looks so much not elegant... can Patek focus on the Nautilus line and not be afraid from it? this cubitus will make the Nautilus/Aquanaut even more appreciated. on another note, they should... 

They need a lower end market line to maintain marketshare. This way they have a fall back product line for the bad economic times ahead. And I find the Nautilus much more elegant too! Maybe this watch looks better in person and even better on the wrist?

Come on. Fall back, lower end, entry level product is the Aquanaut. And it is exquisite! Produce more. Do not produce this horrible, derivative Nautilus copy design and focus on Complications, GC or even the Gondolo! I cannot believe my eyes, when I look ...  

You're talking about that circular "thing" that's circulating the internet? The media implied that it was for the Cubitus and the public just made assumptions. You can always count on the public to be quite quick to assume.

We're not taking bets nor odds here on WPS. But I hear gamblers are betting on the veracity of the advertisement.

I cannot even start qualifying this watch. Horrendous comes to mind. the model is quite interesting: he looks like an AI-generated mashup between Lewis Hamilton and some other dude. Very funny stuff altogether ! I hope this is an early April's fools. Mayb... 

He's probably going to say, "I look a lot better than Lewis Hamilton!" I'd say the model looks nicer than the watch, I really don't like the dial layout of this watch and I feel the model looks like a model. Of course, things may change in person.

But why would they release this in a print magazine (which no one really reads any more) and not have any info online / on their website? Doesn’t make sense. Hoax.

They should do an updated version of that poster with the cubitus and the little guy driving it into the pier : “. I can’t believe you bought me this shxt dad!” Cubitus - the next generation says “No thanks, you can keep it!”

Only some conspiracy theorists think it's a hoax. I shouldn't say "some." As there are A LOT of people who think Patek Philippe can't make such a strange looking watch.

The fortune issue was supposed to be released on Oct 22nd but they released earlier As for the slogan Patek uses a different slogan for the US market. Tania Edward’s who use to work for Patek, now at collectability, created it and explained on the podcast...

Who knows. There might be a waitlist. Lots of people who buy the brand who don't have taste out there.

The magazine is addressed to American (wealthy) youngsters and the new line is supposed to attract new customers. I see nothing new, a squared Nautilus is simply an easy bet and choice. Same movements, same dials, no real investments. Why should Patek pra... 

Dial, hands and hr index are all from the nautilus line.. it would really shock me that they are this lazy. But why would they go through the trouble to pull a stunt like that? Occam’s razor suggest this is real and the advertising dates got mixed up

Hard to say what this watch is... Some say it's a hoax. Others say it's the final product gone wrong.
