I call elaborate hoax. None of the traditional watch journos seem to be covering this and this would be big news. Patek leaks this, creates some buzz and then releases the real Cubitus? They must be embargoed otherwise why would they not cover this?
When they say “take care of it for the next generation”, I assume they mean “take care of it” Sicilian style.

Nobody with a nanogram of common sense might believe that the auction's "performance" was not staged. Patek is a successful company that is advertising, promoting and selling its new watch, no need to play those games (flippers are more than enough).
Why is it a “leak” when Patek put an advertisement in a magazine?
The advertisement appears legit, unlikely to be a hoax. The new model needs a name with 3 syllables to match Aqunaut, Nautilaus but Patek could have tried bit harder.

He's probably going to say, "I look a lot better than Lewis Hamilton!" I'd say the model looks nicer than the watch, I really don't like the dial layout of this watch and I feel the model looks like a model. Of course, things may change in person.
I would be interested in seeing the new model (this one or whatever is the actual model) in person before passing judgement.
