Emmanuel, thanks for your reply. Probably the main reason I posted the images, was because of your interest in Pateks with unusual lugs
and the possibility that it might inspire you to do a post on that subject. Should you choose to do so I think it will be an incredible post on its own merits. It also will contrast the Patek of today with the Patek of the 1940s/1950s considered by many to be a golden age of watchmaking. (One could reasonably argue that we are in the middle of a second golden age of watchmaking right now.) Best, Patekova
Spider lugs: Patek Philippe ref. 1578 & 1579

With Arabic numerals, I would personally pick the first 1578 on the list. And I would choose the 1579 with Roman numerals (the one from Romain RĂ©a looks quite good)!
