First few days with my grail 5270R
I would like to thank all the Purist members for their generosity with their knowledge. I have been a long time member and collector of Patek Philippe. After much thought and research I finally took the plunge and acquired my grail watch this week.
I am still getting used to the idea I own this watch. I have not worn it out of the house yet. I am using my annual calendar for those pursuits at the moment.
However, as soon as I return from work I don the 5270 prior to dinner and enjoy it through the evening. This watch fits in with my “timeless” theme that I have been thinking about over the last few years. I enjoy things and ideas that are timeless. Here are a few that come to mind as I wear my grail.

I hope after a period of acclimatization the watch will accompany you in your every day life. It’s simply relieving having such a beauty on the wrist during sometimes boring business meetings 😄

I have often thought that the 5270 would be my exit watch. Is there really such a thing?

...do you mean exit as in 'the last watch you will buy/collect'? Or do you mean exit as 'the watch that will be on your wrist when you meet the great watchmaker in the sky'? Either way, it's a great term... Fantastic watch as well btw.
I never thought of the other meaning.
I mean “exit” as the last watch I will collect. That is “exit” watch collecting and stick with one watch forever.

Because if it does, then it would mean your passion for watches is also over, and you won't want to wear that one fancy watch forever either.. Just my two bitcoins, of course.

My mini-collection includes PP, AP, ALS but 5270r is my favorite and THE ULTIMATE watch if one day I decide to have only 1 grail...this would be it. Great acquisition and wear in good health!

I purchased my 5270 in December . It is def a grail watch. I take mine out of the safe, put it on, stare at it, pinch myself, and put it back. Lol. Best of luck

I am still getting used to the fact that I own this watch. I love how the opaline dial works very well with the rose gold. It make the watch appear very warm.

A BIG congratulations on acquiring your "ultimate" watch!! For me, the perpetual chronograph represents the best of Patek.
Normally on a complicated watch like this I would prefer a white metal, but not on 5270. The rose is the one! Enjoy for many years! Best, patekova

Yes I was considering the 5270G-001 and 018. I liked them both. However the warmth and the look of the rose gold was very hard to beat. It really is an amazing look , rose gold and opaline dial.
