I am quite sure at some point I will move to look at the 5170P, and even the 5070. However there are still a few goals out there that I want to achieve ;-) But building a small Patek collection is definitely one of the key goals...

It was specifically the pulsometric scale that attracted me to this version.

I think you chose well my friend. The 5170 is an amazing reference and wears better than the larger 5070. I prefer the esthetics of the 5070 and also the CH27 (I am a fan of the Lemania 2310 base caliber)...
but that does not diminish the 5170 nor it's in-house caliber, both of which are excellent. I have also thought about adding a 5170G or P eventually if I stumble upon one in NOS condition 😉

...that happens to have a chronograph function. I don't need a pulsations dial, but I tried one one a couple of years ago--if it had leaf hands I'd probably own it. It is very classy and very easy to wear on my 7.25" wrist...
