Prices for the 5131s are quite stable.
You would be able to get some value from it if you need to sell, let's say +/- 25% of what you are paying now.
However such pieces are illiquid, it might take months to sell.
You'll forget about its price when you wear it on your wrist š

Definitely donāt buy if this in any way comes before your family. Thatās a no brainer. One should always put family waaay before a watch hobby/watch purchase.

But again you never know what the future is about. And that expensive hobby of ours can be managed in a healthy manner by taking minor precautions

Current market piece is down between 90 and 100k i would say
While it was 120k+ a few months ago. I think original rrp was 68kā¬ and it raised quite a bit to 94kā¬ for the new 5231g

Watches get damaged, stolen, lost etc. If you're worried about a watch losing value, I would submit that it is indeed an investment.
