i love the blue dial

thanks, I can not write so well in English, so my mother tongue. I think it's great that you'll advance here in the international forum, part of the PP.
Yes, the 5980 has also turned my head, but only in blue. Thus, the clock is so diverse. It fits great with a suit of many colors (blue, gray, black, etc.), just as with jeans.
The clock is elegant and yet so different in their points of view when the light shines on it, easy on the eyes.
It is rare, you never see them "on the road", it is not recognized and you have a feeling valent arm, although I liked the feel of the new Rolex bracelets even better.
The shape is unique and at the same time carefully developing a classic. I think this clock do you do everything right, if you Like.

I prefer the blue dial
When the grey dial arrived at the dealer my first reaction was that I preferred it. Then I tried it on and thought that it didn't suit me as much as the blue. Then the lady assistant said that it made the 5980 into more of a gentlemans watch (I.e. older) ...

Owning a 5980 and the newer 5990 which has a grey dial, I must admit that the blue dial still has my preference, if the 5990 wouldn't have been in a grey dial only I'd certainly opt for a blue version :)
The 5980 blue dial is very subtle
The dial seems almost black until you put it near other black dials or it catches a ray of sun. It the blue dial a current model or is this a thing from the past. Thanks bill
