I prefer the blue dial
When the grey dial arrived at the dealer my first reaction was that I preferred it. Then I tried it on and thought that it didn't suit me as much as the blue. Then the lady assistant said that it made the 5980 into more of a gentlemans watch (I.e. older) and I decided that it wasn't for me any longer.
By the way do the pushers on all Patek chronos feel that stiff/crappy?
Go for it... in Black!

the blue is nicer on 5712A in my opinion. Its the iconic nautilus and blue. This one is nicer in black IMO. Put it this way, where else can you find such a cool black dial. Another thing, there are love at 1st sight and there's Love that grows on you. I t...

The 5980 blue dial was my first nautilus and has been my favorite sport watch. The black dial is unique but blue is the classic one. If you are unsure and going to buy just one, I would go with blue. If you love the black, then by all means go for it. You...

grey if its 5726. I still find the blue iconic for 5980. Having said that, better if you can get your good friend to go with you to the AD to try on in grey so he can give his opinion in person and compare the blue as well. It is possible due to individua...

Not an owner, but have significant experience with the pushers on the 5980 and with the 5960 as a whole. They are indeed very hard. And sometimes they're even slippery due to the shape and positioning on the case. Really, it didn't bother me too much unti...

As far as the pusher is concerned, 5170 has the best feeling. 5070 is also quite nice. Both 5960 and 5980 feel hard because they share the same self-winding movement. This being said, I wouldn't care too much about it, 5980 in steel is an amazing watch in...
Blue, grey, black...

Go with what you like not what others think is best! The blue is classic but for me the grey dial is perfect but each dial does depend on the moment...suit, casual, everyday? Will you actually use the chronograph, does it matter if the "pushers are tough,...

Hi Oliver, thanks, I can not write so well in English, so my mother tongue. I think it's great that you'll advance here in the international forum, part of the PP. Yes, the 5980 has also turned my head, but only in blue. Thus, the clock is so diverse. It ...
