I really needed one!
The next most classic thing in my collection would be a Moser Perpetual 1 for the dial (but much heavier and bigger) or the Langematik Anniversary that coincidentally has an enamel dial as well but would say can be dressed down a bit due to the red XII; the Reverso 1931 would also fall in that category. But none falls in the same category as the 2526, and all are white metals.

yes...of course....the movement is quite special....
......and an historic movement for Patek Philippe too...12-600AT.... I know there is actually some debate about which model hit the markets first...2552 or 2526...... but it would seem sensible to argue 2526

This is a true gem for me, one can hardly think getting tired of this watch, in general Calatravas fill their low-profile dressing function perfectly and the 2526 offers so much more for the informed wearer.
