If so, probably work just for fun, since he loves watches and collecting since age 15. I don’t think Phillips pay that well to afford all those 7-figure watches. ...

Beside that marketing and „milking the cow“… That watch is so ugly, I couldn’t care less! 5740 is such a beauty, but that 5740 for Mr A. is the epitome of ugliness. Sorry, just my two cents… Best Tempus

If the winning buyer doesn't pay, Phillips has discretion over whether and how to resell the lot, including via a private sale. There is no obligation to offer it to the second highest bidder.

Maybe the winning bidders found out the underbidder was a consultant for Phillips and had artificially inflated the bid?!? All dropped out and Mr. Lu ended up being the bag holder, albeit a rich one whom had the resources to make the purchase. (If he is i...

It's not my place to comment in detail but I will say for certain that there wasn't any calculated attempt on Hodinkee's part to deceive anyone - these were the facts as reported to us by the subject and corroborated by Phillips, and I certainly detected ...

As a long time collector of Patek, I am also a bit puzzled and worried about recent moves it made.
