Long Live the 240!
Based on the 4:00 second hand there appears to be a new version of the venerable 240 in the Cubitus collection. The 240 has been described as a milestone and a workhorse or overused and undersized. Patek Philippe has never made a simple double disk date before afaik, so that is novel even if the base isn't. I hope to see a square version of the 240 in the Cubitus model since Patek hasn't made shaped movements in some time.

Yes, all 240 calibers are designed to accommodate a second hand at the 4 o'clock position!

What you've been seeing is the only official picture from Patek (ad in Fortune), full release is on Thursday in Munich.
240 was a landmark movement at the time for Patek.
It can be undersized if put into a larger watch. For sure😁 However, it fits perfectly into early smaller calatrava’s (less common to see this). You show a Ref 5000 limited edition that I really like. or even the 36mm 3940.
