I hope they find the perpetrator, lock him up, and throw away the key. Okay, if I’m to be completely honest that’s not really my wish for the assailant, but I’m trying to maintain a bit of decorum. Also of course glad to hear that the watch is still with ... 

Personally, I wouldn’t fight back if I’m with my wife and/or kids. Their safety would be my top priority, as watches are material objects in the end. I say that, inspite of being 6 foot, 195 pounds and relatively strong. It’s just not worth the risk of ph... 

But as others have said, I'm glad your wife, you and the watch made it. It will be interesting to see the effect (if any) on any of the affected brands. Will it reduce sales (and demand) and force them to reduce prices? Or am I being naive? (probably) But...

I’m glad that your wife and you are ok, although your both should be pretty shaken psychologically. These scumbags scrape and wound you with their nails when they try to pry away the watch from your arm, I’ve seen terrible photographs, glad that you didn’... 

As mentioned above, you and your wife are safe and that's what counts. I heard about this happening through an article a friend sent about a month ago. We're in NYC. I'm afraid that over the next few years these goons will become even more educated to be ...

I was taught no material item is worth your life

this is now becoming a norm. As a precaution, I now only wear a steel oyster perpertual Rolex watch, and nothing fancy. This has decreased my desire to collect (or buy) watches that i really like and appreciate since I couldn't wear them.

If possible, I would appreciate if you walk through how the actual attack transpired. Were you at a well lit restaurant, wearing short sleeves? Were you walking around a well lit area? And then you happened to walk down a street that had no people, lights... 

did not notice him following us at all, he suddenly came from behind touching my arm/wrist - and I immediately realized what was going on. restaurant was regular lit, long sleeve but the watch is too big to stay there all the time

I was in London recently and I just wore my ikepod becoz of the horror stories..
