I also love the simplicity of the Nautilus and love the story behind the design.
I actually realy like the 1970's watch designs of Mr Genta, especially the AP RO and the PP Nautilus (who got its name from the sea animal (molluscs) Nautilus pompilius pompilius)
The story I believe says that Mr Genta invented the design while taking a walk on the seaside.. and saw a porthole
Actually I learned Gerald Genta rarely wears any watch at all.... Here a picture where he is

flirted with the 5712 idea (Nicolas was kind enough to let me "play" with it)..... However, I prefer the 5711 for its simple sporty elegance..... (the chrono nautilus would be an option but it has quite a price tag.... one subdial chronos though are mesme...

The Nautilus is without a doubt a very impressive and well made watch but the term tool watch takes it perhaps a bit too far. That is like taking your Rolls to the local Home Depot to get some lumber and nails... Of course it is possible.... Kind of remin...

As I understood on a interview i read (in a german watch magazine) he rarely/never wears a watch at all. He doesnt want to make this -keeping time- beeing a hazzle and move him away from his creative thoughts Cheers Hans
more versatile then tool, IMHO
love the watch. still kept in right proportions unlike the other Genta creation the APRO, which has mothed into a monster size. the 5711 is a really versatile watch and suit most occasions...under the sleeves, in tees, business suit etc etc.

5960 combines everything.... granted, it is a bit thick, but it may also be worn as a dress watch.... (not as much as 5070 or 5170) Personally I prefer manual watches so I would want it to be manual..... Cheers
