Nice calibre

Congratulations for your recent purchase!
Calibre 23-300 was/is a very nice calibre. In fact it dates from a time when the most simple calibres from Patek Philippe had nothing to envy to the most complicated ones out of their different level of complication. That's not the case anymore. Simple calibres from PP are today very nicely finished, but the most complicated ones (manual wind chronos, tourbillon or repeater models) get a finish above their simpler counterparts.

The Ellipse is not my cup of tea, even if the platinum one, with the blue dial, is nice. It just doesn't sing to me. But your post, yes! This is certainly the curious shape of the case which doesn't attract me, but as always a Live Experience is necessary...

I like the Ellipse very much. In my mind it is one of the best formal dress watches out there, perfect for black tie, unless you are James Bond, then you wear Omega or Rolex. - SJX
