No difference between both: enthusiasm or conspicuous consumption
"Normally" top end cars, if you are looking at the price tag of a Patek.
But also like with cars: first and most importantly you have to be in the position to buy it.
Than comes the enthusiasm OR the prestige, that means that you are also seing a point in buying it.
And this applies to both, expensive cars and watches: the decision is completely driven by feelings.
Therefore it does not matter at all what you are driving, if you are living in a castle or can call yourself being a member of the upper class:
you have to be a sentimentalist.

For years I couldn't bring myself to buy good shoes. For one the tropical climate I live in isn't friend to leather shoe(a nasty experience for the wearer too if I may add). I do agree that a proper pair goes a long way with a fine watch. I most wear line...
