I feel like this is the "passing of the torch" of the old 27-70 lemania movement into a (new Patek in-house movement?), from the info that we've gathered thus far. Of course, this is pure speculation on the bit of info that we've learned. However, I'm sur... 

If all is true, the 5970 will have the shortest production run of any Patek Chrono/Perpetual in the company's history (2005-2008???). Having said that, the 5970 will still exceed total production of the 2499, which I believe was in production from approx.... 

Production runs may be shorter but wouldn't you agree that the total number of pieces is likely much higher for both the 5070 and 5970?
