Patek Philippe

One more variation

I believe there is one more variation of the 5127G. The early runs, like mine, had the case rhodium plated. If I recall correctly, the very latest runs of the 5127G were unplated, and hence had a case with a slightly more grayish appearance.

To illustrate the difference, here is my 5127G plated on the left, and my 5140G unplated on the right.  It may be difficult to see, but there is a difference in the "whiteness" of the case.

So to summarize the variations:
  • 315 vs 324 movement
  • Geneva Seal vs PP Seal
  • 57 vs 60 dots dial
  • Plated vs unplated case
If anyone has one with 315 movement, PP seal, 57 dots and unplated case, that would surely be a very rare variation!
