Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe and PuristSPro co-hosted evening (July, Saturday 15th)

Dear PuristS,

As the reports of the exhibition and the exhibition itself wind down, I would like to take a moment to remember special people and moments that made this all possible.

As you know, Patek Philippe organized in New-York on Saturday July 15th a cocktail evening co-hosted with PuristSPro, followed by a very privileged uncrowded tour of the exhibition.

We would like to thank Patek Philippe for the honour of welcoming us to such an event and especially Mr Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe for "carrying on the torch" at such a venerable and historical brand.

Of course such a massive undertaking would never be possible without support from key people, and we'd like to thank Mr Larry Pettinelli , President of Patek Philippe USA, and his US based team, in particular Ms. Jessica Kingsland and Ms. Laney Dennis, for their help in coordination and hospitality;

the continuing support of Mrs Jasmina Steele, Communication Director and Mr Jerôme Pernici, Commercial and Marketing Director, and Mr Barat, Director of the Watch Development Department who presented very thoroughly and with wry humour the new 5531R World Time Minute Repeater.

And of course the many Patek Philippe watchmakers, staff, and support team without whom the displays and individual presentations would not have been possible.

This event demonstrates the appreciation and respect they have for our community whether we are active collectors or watch admirers, something I personally appreciated very much. The watch admirers of today are the active collectors of tomorrow.

I think we can also congratulate Patek Philippe for the Exhibition. The organization, elegance and dedication of Patek’s staff, how they are welcoming each visitor whether they are WIS or not, from the comments we can read here and there, tell a lot regarding what watch making has to offer. The communication, the way the new New-York special collection has been balanced and designed are expressions of what the brand is in this field.

To be frank, when I first read the exact title of the event a few months ago, I thought it seemed a little too much for a watch presentation (as usual in the luxury sector in some ways...). However, from the messages, articles and all kind of readings we could see on the net, this event is much more than an exhibition and a true demonstration and display of what watch making, craftsmanship and even Art are for the brand. This event is not only recommended to watch fans but also to people enjoying art and a nice visit into a world they perhaps didn’t know.

We also wish to thank all the members who attended the evening with their passion and friendship and also ThomasM and Bill for organizing the event, as well as Patrick_y who has posted the several reports from his visit and for his work during the evening next to ThomasM.

You can find hereafter a video that Patrick_y took during Larry Pettinelli’s speech. I invite you particularly to have a look at the moment starting at 2:40...

Here are some pictures of the evening (credit: ThomasM) that you already saw in Patrick_y "PuristSPro' members evening":
