Perhaps I am too cruel and unforgiving
or just plain objective because when a watch is too large for my wrist, even if it is a little too large, I will not make any compromises. This is the price of buying a watch that you are unable to try on first. I have placed the 5131R many times (albeit in its sealed form) and tried to convince myself that it fitted me but it does not Joe! I a quite odd as I can compare a perpetual calendar against a chronograph and a comparison does not have to be made in my books with the same items. I have a number of headings when choosing a watch and give each watch a mark out of 10. I then add up the total score to decide which is best. Just me being my weird self

I hear what you say on movement....but when the watches have such different personalities, it becomes much less of a problem for me. But i have to say, i would not place the 5110 above these two in a hierarchy.

I have owned both and miss the 5575G more. The moon is still the most enchanting moon in any watch, the design of the lugs is very special and make the 39.8mm case more wearable than the 39.5mm case of the 5131R. Yes admittedly, reading the time on the 55...

I prefer the 5131r compared to the anniversary world time.

Surely the "in-hand" experience could alter my view. But I prefer the 5575 hands-down. Probably because of the moon phase. It is so beautiful. Yes, the cloisonné dial is gorgeous. But I am not crazy about the map details and I do not care for the printing...

I wouldn't quite call it frustration.
More like a small annoyance at the stupidity of DST. And it is the principal of it. I would LOVE a 5131, but my stubbornness (masochism?) will not allow it.
Wow, you're one of the few people who thinks like me regarding Worldtimers!!
They are wrong 6 months of the year !! We nitpick about=/- 10 secs a day,and I don't hear many people raise the DST issue!

I guess one can get custom cities ring, but that does not fix the undelying problem. Once you live with no time adjustments, it sucks to go back. So I try to avoid any travels during those 2 weekends (and inevitably get to travel exactly then).

I m biased tho. I love the size and although the dial is "busy" it is still very balanced. Only down side is that it is difficult to read time with the small hands. ...

5131R!, although both are fantastic. The virtues of the 5131R have already been stated in this thread. The 5575 stands on its own functionally and aesthetically in a most alluring way.
In bright light, particularly in sunlight, the sky is mesmerizing. And under a loupe, the tiny stars are not shaped as dots, but as actual stars. And the moon is highly realistic and detailed. Plus, it is a limited edition piece which adds to the appeal. ...

it really depends on what one would find most use for and also what is already in ones collection. Personally if I did not have a 5131J, my choice between these two amazing pieces would be the 5131R. The colored gold case against the enamel dial is just s...
