No right or wrong answrs here, just curious how opinions divide between these two world time watches. On the one hand, there is the beauty of the enamel and the beautiful colouring of the dial. Yet on the other hand there is the magic of the moonphase com...  

wear 5575 for work because it is more discrete and 5131 for outings because its dial is more vibrant and fun ! Cheers, Gordon

Three very different expressions of the world time by Patek. The icon remains the 5110P, for its proportions ( dial and case ), the two others have their own charm. The enamel, and the moonphase and starry sky. Why choosing when you have them all? My pers... 

I hear what you say on movement....but when the watches have such different personalities, it becomes much less of a problem for me. But i have to say, i would not place the 5110 above these two in a hierarchy.

I have owned both and miss the 5575G more. The moon is still the most enchanting moon in any watch, the design of the lugs is very special and make the 39.8mm case more wearable than the 39.5mm case of the 5131R. Yes admittedly, reading the time on the 55... 

......you cannot tell how much love you might have had for the 5131R if you never wore it. I find it hard to differentiate these two as they have such different personalities.

.....you gave the 5575 a chance to be worn for a prolonged period....but the 5131 had no chance. As objective and scientific as you say you are being......watches DO grow on you in terms of appreciation and love.

But the reason why the 5575G enjoyed actual wrist time Joe was because it actually fitted my wrist a lot better than the 5131R would have done. Some people for example would consent to an arranged marriage in the hope that love will eventually set in. I h... 

When unsure about a watch, one of the conditions that need to be satisfied before I buy it would be the possibility of retrieving all my money back should the watch not be suitable. The 5131R fell into this category. Similarly, I have a left a deposit on ...

B-man liked the 5131 more than 5575. But after seeing the 5575 live, became more of a fan.

Surely the "in-hand" experience could alter my view. But I prefer the 5575 hands-down. Probably because of the moon phase. It is so beautiful. Yes, the cloisonné dial is gorgeous. But I am not crazy about the map details and I do not care for the printing... 

...I vote for the 5131 specially because I love it in R version. Not that I dislike 5131G or 5575G but I don't know why the 5131R really speaks to my heart while the 2 others speak to my eyes only : beautiful but they leave me cold compared with rhe rose ... 

Starting with the hands, continuing with the white gold case and finally the much more interesting sky compared to earth.

Aside from that I'm really not a fan of the hole/circle in the hour hand on the 5131.

I guess, if forced, I would pick the 5575. And that's only because I don't wear yellow metals. If 5131 was a P, than it would win, hands down. Disclaimer: I refuse to look at any World timers until the rest of the world decides to stop DST. It is a nuisan... 

More like a small annoyance at the stupidity of DST. And it is the principal of it. I would LOVE a 5131, but my stubbornness (masochism?) will not allow it.

They are wrong 6 months of the year !! We nitpick about=/- 10 secs a day,and I don't hear many people raise the DST issue!

I guess one can get custom cities ring, but that does not fix the undelying problem. Once you live with no time adjustments, it sucks to go back. So I try to avoid any travels during those 2 weekends (and inevitably get to travel exactly then).

I m biased tho. I love the size and although the dial is "busy" it is still very balanced. Only down side is that it is difficult to read time with the small hands. ...  

All watches have their characteristics and they especially have strength but also flaws. The latter often give a special taste to a watch (true for a car, in architecture etc...) I would prefer the 5131R if I really had to choose because of the enamel wor... 

In bright light, particularly in sunlight, the sky is mesmerizing. And under a loupe, the tiny stars are not shaped as dots, but as actual stars. And the moon is highly realistic and detailed. Plus, it is a limited edition piece which adds to the appeal. ... 

it really depends on what one would find most use for and also what is already in ones collection. Personally if I did not have a 5131J, my choice between these two amazing pieces would be the 5131R. The colored gold case against the enamel dial is just s...
