From what I read and see in your post, the Platinum version is made for you. Its understated elegance is a big pro. I begin to appreciate it more and more. The danger with the RG, again from what I read, is that you get tired of this first appeal.... IMO,... 

The Platinum version is more homogeneous. You can wear it with a suit or during the end of the week. Fr.Xavier

Honestly Nat, I'm not a very emotional person so fortunately for me my heart and my mind usually think the same thing. But for watches, if I were you, I'd let my heart do all the talking. For instance, I really like the 5960P and the 5070P. Now, I'm not c...

Hello Nat I placed both of these watches side by side and there is no question for me that the rose gold is the champ; therefore, I bought it. Its will be and already is a classic with cool sophistication. I have a problem with platinum as there are times... 

it looks like you really want the platinum but had your head turned by the rose gold. I love platinum in a watch. It feels fantastic on teh wrist. Nothing feels the same. Now, one commentator said that an off-put on the platinum is that it looks steel/sil... 

I agree with you that nothing feels like platinum. I love the heft of my 5135P.

As much as I wanted to like the 5960R when it was launched in Basel it's just "too much" for me, I'm not sure Patek rate their rose gold, but il looks to me like IWC's 5N, like on the Nautilus 5711R, and with that much surface it's just too much.

I actually have been faced with exactly the same dilemma and because of that I have delayed pulling the trigger on a 5960P. A few months after having first seen the RG version, I am worried of getting bored with the RG. I think the color mix is stunning b...

I prefer the RG. Also, you should absolutely not have to pay anywhere near list for these references, from an AD or otherwise.

Listen to your heart! The rose gold version looks lovely... just my 2 cents erich

I'd like to cast my vote in the direction of the 5960R. I own both versions and wear the R much more. It's lighter on an active wrist. I like to wear my watches just a bit loose and the platinum is so big it's unpleasantly heavy during times of more vigor... 

and take your time to decide, don't buy until you've settled your mind with certainty. Because nothing tortures like the buyer's remorse.
