I too was first concerned about this potential issue, but in practice I've found no - zero - difficulty, even under a quick glance scenario. I believe context plays a part of course - we have a vague sense of real time, with a few exceptions - but equally...

.....yours is a very interesting question. For one, I had never looked at a potential watch purchase as you suggest...so interesting to contemplate. I also think it is interesting as I suspect it really applies to collectors who only collect modern watche... 

I buy what I like but I’m learning to be very selective since I have limited funds for this hobby. We kind of know, here from the vast knowledge and from historical facts, that Patek Philippe’s special watches are very desirable and will hold or appreciat... 

rarity is also a consideration. Pricing aside, 5he production run of 300 is naturally an attraction vs a regular production piece that sits in the counter of an AD. Cheers, Gordon

Looks great! If only was smaller would be on my wrist. Unfortunately my wrist is 16.5 cm and when I tried it was absolutely too big. Enjoy it ... is stunning!

5650 could be the one... just fits the bill and the complication is genuinely the most useful one i can think of on a wristwatch.
