My 6196P has arrived, and after living with it for a few days, I’ve come to realize that the 1.33mm increase in thickness over its predecessor, the 5196, is quite a significant design change. I had noticed this when reading the press release back in April...

from your side elevations diagrams the 5196 and the 6196 have the protruding 'finger nail' between the 6 lugs for opening the case back-are they hinged?-where 6119 does not. 6119 having a standard snap back hence can be thinner along with the flat glass b... 

its proportions and color combination.

hour markers and hands contrast well with the salmon dial 👍

have a subtle brown tint that blends beautifully with the dial color.

Thank you for bringing the thickness to attention, was not aware of it. Yes, suits it very well, as I found the 5296 "too thinn" for its diameter.

The photos really evidence the substantial differences between the 5196, 6119 and 6196. Beautiful and an 'easy-wearing' classique!

...the type of watch (dress, sport, etc.) Either way a beautiful watch I would love to see in real life...

I think their decision to go against the conventional notion of making a dress watch as slim as possible worked well here.
