And a correction which was mandatory, since you got the 5370P. Now, add one, two or three Platinum and you have dream collection which will be hard to beat when it comes to Patek. Which other pieces am I thinking about? The 5110P you already own. The 5131... 

....5110P.....already done. ....5131P......I am hopeful. 5960P.....i just can't get my head around the 5960 as a reference. I am having lunch soon with Miles and he will bring a 5960P as he agrees with you. For me, I am not a big fan of teh annual calenda...

Thanks Patekova........catching these three was a feat for me. As you know, I deliberated a long time on the 5970 and the metal colour. In the end, the platinum won out. But a MacNab can only be THREE...... and i defined my three. Having said that, both o... 

But in the meantime, I am going to put you on the spot. How do you rate the three in terms of sheer joy of ownership and wearing them?

It is truly difficult to say X is better than Y, which is better than Z. They all have very different personalities and offer very different things at different times. nahhhhh.... you are not going to swallow that, are you? Although what I said in the fir...

Patek PCC is the benchmark so may I ignorantly ask why 5970, not 5270 or 3970, for modern Pateks? Thank you. Rgds Raymond

......because I prefer the balance of the dial more than the other two references. It has a more harmonious balance to my eye. I also like the case shape more. The 3970 is on the small side for my taste for such a complicated piece. The 5270 is a consider... 

such a complicated watch spurred this thought. I prefer case style of 3970 to 5970. So the perfect watch for me would be 5970 tachometer dial in a larger 3970 style case, say 39-40 mm. No wonder this would appeal to me. It is basically a slightly larger, ... 

.....that is spot-on. When evaluating, i looked through the chronology of perpetual chronographs to see how they had evolved. Nothing has quite captured that magic of the 2499. Some get closer than others......

I try to plan 1-2 years ahead. This is the completion of the chronos within PP. 5131p is a target. And of course important to watch what happens with 5230p. Beyond that, uhmmmm.....

On Tuesday with pleasure as I am right about this one as well as the 5970. I've seen more 5970p's for sale than any other metal. The reason is simple. People want to fall deeply in love with a Platinum 5970 so much they buy one only to realise they are be... 

the white gold has been the most sold metal of the four over the last 7 years....marginally more than the rose gold. The least sold 5970, not surprisingly, is the yellow gold as it is way rarer. I hear what you are saying Miles....but take a look at my co...

the 5970P is a true marvel. Had the pleasure to try this one on at one of the GTGs and the size, the look, the complication just make a devilish cocktail.

I have never seen a 5070P and probably never will in real life, is it the rarest of the 3? The 5370 enamel dial is so much blacker than the 5970, I find. The 5370P looks less cluttered and has a cleaner look, but the 5970 obviously has its charms as a per... 

......it is probably right to describe the 5070P as the rarest of the three. Probably only 150 were made in a 1 year production run. 5970P, the production was for just two years and it is believed that around 300 were made. 5370P is now in the second year... 

You have a very nice theme and it shows how much Patek's references through their history have brought in terms of interest and diversification. Enjoy wearing your watches Joe and congratulations for the last 5970P. Best, Mark
