Whether we consider a little less or a little more complicated models
we always discover and check what we like and what we don't, in the watch itself but also the wearing experience etc... Even more so when the budget is significant.
Some watches don't always qualify for being a daily user (from our own perspective of course) and are watches we would rather enjoy for specific occcasions and others are work the other way. That's why it is also interesting to think really about the context in which we would wear it.
That's not what I did at the beginning but I find useful doing now.
It requires a little work indeed while providing very much pleasure when you find something that checks the right boxes

5204P either dial... assuming 5951P is no longer an alternative
Because I love the aesthetics and raw feel. It does not have the typical soft shapes as many other Patek with Grand complications.
For me the ultimate Patek would be
the 5959 in any metal. I actually have a limited edition lithograph of this movement framed up in my lounge for the past decade and a half. I think it is one of the great feats in horology to be able to produce a split second chronograph in an ultra thin ...

This is for a very simple reason. I'd use it! It would suit me, I'd wear it all the time. Plus I don't want to pay for he service cost of a more complicated piece.

Why this one? Easy: It's a US only watch and as I'm not living there, Mr. Stern would be the only way for me to get it. The 5170P is a watch, I can buy on my own. (If I want to)

5204P or 5131P. I think 5204P eeks ahead because of the split seconds.
For 'modern' watch 3670 would be a dream.
After that 5950 or 5370. Haven't seen any of these so this is just desktop dreaming!
If we can't choose a MR, I opt for a 1518 in steel! Just because 😉

My final conclusion...
As the author of this post, I thought it only fair to thoroughly consider my answer. I spent ALOT of time mulling this over and enjoyed the process immensely, although some of my regular AD's would tell you otherwise 😀 It seems the majority favour the 537...
