Patek Philippe

You Are Quoting Bubble-Economics. Honsty.... $40,000 for a FPJ Quartz is laughable imho. The BUBBLE POPPED FOLKS! It's GAME OVER. <<<

Now we enter the financial phase when timepiece manufacturers will have to get back to working to make a sale as was the historic norm. In fact, we may go back to the Asia crisis times or worse financially. Be prepared folks.

Just ask LVMH stock / recent report.

Let us all take a moment, a breath as it were, and know that for $40,000 you can get some very impressive mechanical timepieces (or two timepieces).

But to be fair to PP, it is probably more profitable going quartz and servicing should be easier too. The fewest watchmaker hours per timepiece and the higher the retail price the better for higher production numbers and profits. We're already seeing some longstanding companies, such as Ulysse Nardin, seemingly needing external financial support due (IMHO mismanagement and lack of foresight) and so were not being prepared for the 'other side' of the recent massive financial bubble.

Still, let us all have hope! Do not give up your hope for a better, higher-quality handcrafted future for horology. The new Patek Philippe 100% mechanical and very innovative Conneseur Series of movements may be greatly received by many. Plus, it will help bring back some of the lost luster and diminished prestige to the commercial brand since modern independents are handcrafting some truly amazing timepieces. With some modern independent brands, you can easily see the immense handcrafting and watchmaker hours.
